The Transcarpathian Regional Music and Drama Theater was established according to the decision of the Council of People’s Commissars of Transcarpathian Ukraine, it started to work from January 1, 1946 and started its activity in November 7, 1946, with the performance «Under Chestnuts of Prague» of K. Simonov. Producers of the theater were Volodymyr Mahar, Hnat Ihnanovych, Hryhoriy Volovyk, Ivan Marushko, Yurii Feketa, Valentin Ivchenko, Mykhaylo Kurinniy, brothers Sherehiyi, Anatoly Filippov and others. Modern building of the theater was put into operation in 1986. Today in the repertory of the theater there are such performances as: «Tango for you» by brothers Sherehiyi, “Judgement Time” by I.Kozak, “Khanum” by H. Ceharelli, “Bankrupt” written by Mykhailo Starytsky, “Natalka Poltavka“ by I. Kotlyarevskiy, “A revision” by M. Kropyvnytsky and others.
